Fleets just wanna have fun.
Fleetio is a fleet maintenance software that gives fleet managers the ability to track, manage, and maintain their operations all on a single platform. Shortly after arriving to Fleetio, one of my first tasks was to enhance and optimize emails for the marketing team. I realized quickly that this audience engages with FEAR or FOMO, but even more so they engage with FUN (open rates soared over 50% on average, and I set the company record with the highest open rate in history). I wondered. How could I translate that to the rest of the Fleetiverse?
How can we get the customer excited about the new dark mode setting within Fleetio? The original cut had no music, no sound effects, and someone from design thought “She’s Nice On The Eyes” was a good headline. Yikes. I saw the cut and the Jedi within me couldn’t contain himself.
May The Fleet Be With You
Tasked to concept a full-page ad for NAFA, I knew every other ad in the magazine was going to be a cesspool of product shots — nothing to put a stop to the page. Fleetio’s new AI feature at the time is the hottest topic in the marketplace. We needed something bold. Make a splash. Something that would stop the audience in their tracks, drive curiosity, and give them just enough to go further. Where I went? AI is literally in the word REPAIR. The word itself is the manifestation of what the AI Service Advisor actually is: an AI embedded in the repair process. It’s not every day you find copy solely driving the concept. But in this case, it just clicked. And once I saw it, I couldn’t look away or go in any other direction.
